It is believed that when a wolf gets separated from its pack it will howl in order to locate its pack. Howling is a way for them to communicate with one another. Wolves are friendly, social and highly intelligent.

In animal lore the wolf represents guardianship, balance, loyalty, spirit, earth wisdom and protection.
